Kèr Ènhufíh (/ɛn/ /ˈhufɪ̞/ [athlete] [innocent]) is a subtropical Town located in the Kririsi̊mù Region of the Tetbur Commune.

The name Kèr Ènhufíh is derived from the Tauric language, as Kèr Ènhufíh was founded by Glënm Cecil, who was culturaly Tauric.

Climate

Kèr Ènhufíh has a yearly average temperature of 29°C (84°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a hot 32°C (89°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a warm 26°C (78°F). Kèr Ènhufíh receives an average of 209 cm/y (82 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the fall. Kèr Ènhufíh covers an area of nearly 5 km2 (2 mi2), and an average elevation of 5446 m (17867 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Kèr Ènhufíh was founded durring the late 14th century in winter of the year 1259, by Glënm Cecil. The establishment of the new community went well, with no major obsticles durring construction.

Kèr Ènhufíh was built using the conventions of Tauric durring the late 14th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Kèr Ènhufíh is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature plaster covered brickwork used to form structures with an emphasis on symmetry, proportion, geometry and the regularity of parts. Orderly arrangements of columns, pilasters and lintels, as well as the use of semicircular arches, hemispherical domes, niches and aediculae can be found everywhere such that only size of building and yard can be used to measure the general prosparity of a given building's owners due to a general wealthy feeling the style gives off.

Kèr Ènhufíh is is constructed arround a series of restrictive paverstone mainstreets which form overlapping circles, with smaller strait roads linking the circiles to eachother at varrious points. The town has a defencive wall made from large clay bricks. The wall is constructed to the exact specifications of millitary fortifications, but the nature of its clay brick construction leaves it vulnerable to even outdated siege equipment. That said, the town is well defended against anything short of an army. The town's brittle defences are visibly old, but also obviously maintained semi-regularly. Its likly the local malishia or garrison are tasked with ocasional mantance of the towns defences.

Kèr Ènhufíh has the unmistakable air of a town on its last legs. Everything is a bit slipshod and ramshackle. Everyone is at work, or drinking. No one has anything in their eyes other than fear and despair. Whatever industry once fueled Kèr Ènhufíh ’s existence has dried up and the town is drifting down the stream of history as it dries up. The locals seem to have responded to their slow downfall by recreating Kèr Ènhufíh as one of the strictest places imaginable. Everyone’s actions are clearly directed by laws they keep in heart and mind at all times. Orderly byond order is a phrase which the town brings to mind.

Kèr Ènhufíh has a Gravedigger's Guild, which is responsible for collecting the dead and laying them to rest according to all applicable laws and religious customs.

Kèr Ènhufíh has a Department of Firefighters, which is responsible for organizing fire fighting efforts during a fire and enforcing local ordinances relating to fire safety.

Kèr Ènhufíh has a Highwayman's Guild, which is tasked with maintaining the roads and highways leading into town as well as keeping them safe for travelers.

Kèr Ènhufíh has a monistary of an order of Civil Monks, who provide divine-related services to the general public and maintain Kèr Ènhufíh's public wards, blessings, and other arcane systems.

Kèr Ènhufíh possesses a Galvanic Power Grid, which brings galvanic current to most if not all buildings in town, and permits a great many consumer goods to function within the Town. Kèr Ènhufíh's grid is powered by an arcane means.

Kèr Ènhufíh possesses an older civil lighting system consisting of street lamps. In spite of the Galvanic Grid, these lights continue to use their old fule sources to provide nighttime illumination to all city streets.

Kèr Ènhufíh has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands.

Kèr Ènhufíh has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Cultural Notes

One or more crime bosses have a powerful influence within Kèr Ènhufíh. They may control crime within the community itself, or they may use it simply as a safe haven from which to direct their minions elsewhere. Local law enforcement may know all about them, but lack the strength to confront them and their paid or intimidated henchmen.

Kèr Ènhufíh's town hall was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is best known for its functional shapes, abstract shapes used sparingly for decor, simple color schemes, holistic design, and basic industrial materials. Its simple designs were created to be beautiful, functional, and mass-producible. The style used little to no embellishment or ornamentation, instead drawing attention to the streamlined design, such as flat roofs to create a simple, geometric look. The simplicity masks the style's nearly sinister functionality, as every last feature is designed to guide the people living in the building in how to make the most efficient use of the structure.

Due to the actions of local Kami, autumn is recurring in Kèr Ènhufíh.

The Gremlin near Kèr Ènhufíh are known to be more aggressive than normal.

Kèr Ènhufíh's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in spring and involves ritual combat to channel Charm energies of tier 1 via throat singing.

History

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the early 2nd century, Kèr Ènhufíh was attacked by soldiers from another nation, waging a greater campaign. The details of the conflict are hazy at best due to many conflicting accounts. What is known is Kèr Ènhufíh lost 110 people, 124 livestock, and 80 buildings. The conflict ended after roughly 49, when members of Kèr Ènhufíh's militia enacted an operation to bring aid to another fighting force. The operation was complicated by major logistical problems. The conflict ended with the defense of the ruin against a siege, which ended in defeat for Kèr Ènhufíh's forces. The war is remembered in legend by Kèr Ènhufíh's bards, historians, and legend keepers.
